TUNING
| 88 or 85-note Grand, Baby Grand, Upright, Console, or Spinet. | |
| Base tuning rate: | $90 |
| A service call fee of $40 is included in the above. This covers gas and travel time, and is the minimum charge for a house call should circumstances prevent scheduled work from being completed. | |
PITCH RAISE
In addition to the base tuning rate.
| Pianos that have not been regularly tuned usually go flat and require a pitch raise to bring them back to the standard pitch of A=440 Hz. | |
| Pitch raise fee | $1 per cent of pitch correction. Examples: $10 for a 10-cent pitch raise. $50 for a 50-cent (¼-step) pitch raise. |
| Note: There are 100 cents in a semi-tone. i.e. If your piano is a half-tone flat, it is 100 cents under pitch. | |

| APPRAISAL | |
| If you would like me to examine a piano that your are thinking about buying, or if you just want to find out the current condition and value of your own piano, an appraisal is available as a stand-alone service, or as part of a regular service call. | |

| Appraisal as part of a regular service call (added to cost of other services) | $45 |
| The appraisal consists of a detailed inspection of the piano, and a condition report, in writing, with estimated market value and replacement cost. | |
CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS
| Full systems include parts and labor for installation of dehumidfier rod(s), humidifier tank and humidistat. All climate control installations include one follow-up tuning. | |

SERVICE NOTES
- TERMS: Payment by cash or personal check is expected at time of service unless other prior arrangements are made.
- Minor repairs encountered during tuning, such as a sticky key, squeaky pedal, or loose bench leg, are taken care of at no extra charge. If any repair requires an additional charge, an estimate will be provided before proceeding.
- NEW CUSTOMERS: Your first appointment begins with a preliminary check-up of your piano to determine its maintenance and repair needs. If conditions are found requiring additional services, I will consult with you before proceeding. See What Pianos I Work On.
- SALES TAX: Piano tuning and repair is a non-taxable service in the State of Maine.
- PLAYER PIANOS: Serviced by estimate only after I examine the piano.
- SQUARE GRANDS: I no longer service square grands.
MY PRICING PHILOSOPHY
I do not charge by the hour. My prices are "flat rate" based on the services performed. The above list covers most routine services, with a set price for each task. If your piano needs more extensive repairs, I will fully explain the repairs needed and quote a price for the job.
